Chicken Wings with Soy Sauce

Chicken wings in soy sauce

These baked chicken wings are actually fried first. Frying gives the flour coating a crispy texture.

The addition of the cooking sauce brings lots of rich flavor and creates a nice glaze.

This chicken wing recipe is fabulous, but there is one thing I did to make them a bit healthier. First of all, there was a lot of sugar in the recipe. I have cut it down a bit to 1/2 cup. They still taste sweet but not as much. Adjust the amount of sugar up if you want.

The soy sauce, sugar and vinegar combination is a great mix of tang and sweetness without being overpowering.

So to make these wings, you first coat them in the flour mixture. Fry them in hot oil until they are browned.

Mix the ingredients for the sauce while the chicken wings are frying.

Put the wings in a baking dish, pour the sauce over them all and bake in the oven for 15 minutes covered and another 30 minutes uncovered. Baking them uncovered gives that fabulous glaze a chance to thicken and get wonderful.

This chicken wing recipe is really easy to cook and makes a terrific finger food party appetizer or main dish.
